Jillian O Keeffe is a freelance journalist based in Galway until she finishes her MA in Journalism.

Pre-empting the recession, she left her permanent pensionable job in Big Pharma last year and decided to write for a living.

Presently she writes for regional newspapers, makes radio documentaries and contributes to a current affairs student radio show.

Her education is in science, and she is capable of genetically modifying a bacterium should anyone wish to commission her to do that.

She also likes motorbikes, especially on sunny days on country roads, and skiing, usually in the snow.
